Williamsburg Capitol Building

This morning our group of teachers had a debate about declaring independence or staying loyal to the Crown and England. Our group got to use the recreated Capitol Building, which once served as the government of the entire state of Virginia.

Several members of our group gave powerful and engaging arguments. Spit was spewn, cheers were given, and arguments were given based upon primary sources.

The 1705 original foundation of the building can only be seen from the basement because in1747 building burned down. Somebody wanted fireplaces in the building to keep it warm...whoops!
Chambers, basement, and court room are seen in the photos.
